About the company

ONAFT was founded in October 20, 1902 as the Odesa school millers. Professor V. Knabe was appointed as the first headmaster, who came from Kharkiv.

The first and the only country in the higher education institution was the technical profile of grain-processing technology of grain and flour, opened June 22, 1922 at the Odesa mill-Technical School. Managing college was appointed a distinguished professional engineer-miller, Professor K. Bohomaz, who led them from 1922 to 1929.

In the faculty included renowned major college professor professionals K. Debu (organic chemistry), V. Pinegin (hydraulics and hydraulic systems), A. Pribbe (heat engineering), I. Serbinov (microbiology). Training sessions were held in a former mill-Technical School (St. Moscow, 24). In 1924, the college is temporarily located in the building gymnasium Faig (street Shchepkina 5).

In 1925, the college team filled with highly qualified professors mill case V. Girshsonom, L. Minaev, G. Dombrowski and others. In 1928, the College was transformed into Odesa Polytechnic technologies of grain and flour with three departments: the technological, mechanical and baking. As part of the teachers were Prof. K. Bogomaz, V. Girshson, N. Vasiliev, B. Nikolaev, N.Padichansky- Zarembo, A. Pribbe, qualified teachers: P. Demidov, N. Ozolin, G. Dombrowski, K. Panchenko and others.

Polytechnic in 1929 was reorganized into the Institute of Technology of grain and flour named after Joseph Stalin. Its director was a young engineer L. Landa. The institute had five faculties: technological, mechanical, baking, feed and engineering and managerial. In 1930-31there were created by the Department of Chemistry, Institute of evening, extramural sector, external (Correspondence School) and advanced training of technical personnel.

In 1938, he headed the Institute graduate in 1931, KT n. Associate Professor S. Zolotarev. In 1938 he was accepted to graduate school in 19. By the beginning of 1940/41 academic year, the institute enrolled 845 students (training was conducted in Ukrainian and Russian). There were 157 teachers, including 4 professors and 30 associate professors.

A landmark in the history of the institution began in 1969. The reorganization of the two universities of Odesa - Odesa Technological Institute (OTI) and the Odesa Institute of Food and Refrigeration Industry (OIFR) was formed in fact new, the country's largest organic food institute profile. In 1970, the Council of Ministers in the new institution was renamed into Odesa Technological Institute of the Food Industry after Lomonosov. As such institution existed until November 20, 1994, when it was given the status of the Academy. On that date, high school was named the Odesa State Academy of Food Technologies (OSAFT). September 21, 2002 Odesa State Academy of Food Technologies awarded the status of "National Academy" and it became the Odesa National Academy of Food Technologies (ONAFT).
